BUSKİ Fluidized Bed Sludge Incineration and Energy Production Plant
Turkey’s first and only plant which generates electric power from wastewater sludge
Capacity: 400 ton/day
Project Start Date: April 2015
Project End Date: April 2017
Project Description
Process
The plant includes 2 parallelly-operating incineration systems with a capacity of 200 tons/day. Each incineration system includes a sludge refill system, heat recovery boiler and waste gas treatment system. There is one common turbine system for both systems. 2,500 KW of electricity per hour is generated with the plant that became operational in 2017 and includes one steam turbine generator.
Goals
The direct incineration of dewatered sludge obtained from BUSKİ Wastewater Treatment Plants at the Fluidized Bed Sludge Incineration Plant that has a daily capacity of 400 tons/day. Generation of electricity from the waste heat of this plant and treatment of obtained waste gas.
Districts
All BUSKİ Wastewater Treatment Plants located in the Bursa province
