Project Description
Kuzu Group completed the construction of the Düzce Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has a treatment capacity of 50,000 m³ /day, in a record time of just 120 days.
Process
The system consists of pretreatment, intermediate, biological phosphorus removal, denitrification and nitrification through extended aeration, and final clarifiers, thus ensuring complete removal of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. Other facilities include preclarification, biological phosphorus removal, aeration, distribution system, final clarifiers, blower building, and a substation.
Goals
Advanced biological treatment of all wastewater collected in the basin that poses a pollution threat to the Melen River, which has become a major source of potable water for Istanbul residents following İSKİ’s recent infrastructure investments.
