ISKI Kadıköy Wastewater Pretreatment Plant
Thanks to this plant and the completed collector investments, it has finally become possible to swim in Caddebostan for the first time in many years.
Operational Dates: 2003 – 2013
Capacity: 833.000 m³ / day
Project Description
The Kadıköy Wastewater Pretreatment Plant has made it possible for Istanbulites to once again swim along the Caddebostan coast. Wastewater collected through the collectors located along the shoreline between Kartal Orhantepe and Üsküdar Salacak is treated with a flow rate of
833,000 m3/day. It is then discharged through a 2,308-meter long outfall pipe into the Bosphorus at a depth of 51.5 meters, into the undercurrent of the Black Sea. An advanced ozonation unit at the facility addresses the odor issue. Kadıköy Wastewater Pretreatment Plant also makes a positive contribution to the environment with its unique landscape design and architectural style.
