İSKİ Ambarlı Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant
The solid material from Ambarlı Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant can be used as secondary fuel at industrial plants, covering the energy needs of the plant thanks to the cogeneration unit.
Operation Start Date: July 2017
Operation Ending Date: January 2022
Capacity: 400.000 m³ / day
Population Equivalent: 1.600.000
Project Description
The Ambarlı Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has a daily treatment capacity of 400,000 m3, treats the wastewater of a total of 1,600,000 people living in the Arnavutköy, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt districts. The wastewater is discharged to receiving bodies after being treated with advanced treatment methods such as nitrogen and phosphor elimination.
Some of it is then disinfected and used for irrigation or industry purposes if demand exists. After undergoing dewatering and drying processes, the plant’s solid material waste can be used as secondary fuel by industrial facilities too, and thanks to the existence of a cogeneration unit, it can also be used to meet industrial facilities’ energy needs.
